Xiaomi talks more about MIUI 11 hints at a system-wide dark mode
In the month of January 2019, Xiaomi announced that it started work on MIUI 11, but we haven’t learned much since about the Android skin since. MIUI product Director Liu Meng and Design director Ge Rui Revel Xiaomi’s silence during an AMA on Weibo, on Wednesday, March 27, XDA-Developers reported earlier.
Xiaomi is working on new UI. That means updated icons and animations are on the way, with icons expected to be better than they are now. MIUI 11 also includes options to change icon shapes, options that Android 9 Pie already includes.

MIUI 11 also moves the clock to the right side of the status bar. There might also be an option to darken the status bar, though Meng and Rui didn’t say whether the feature would make it to the final version.
Other MIUI 11 features include automatically deleting screenshots once they’re shared, group notifications from the same app as cards, and persistent notification management. Xiaomi hinted at a system-wide dark mode, but didn’t confirm its presence in the final version of MIUI 11.

MIUI 10 was aimed at optimizing full-screen usage and improving the camera performance, Xiaomi is working on MIUI 11 for a more uniformly applied design language, new icons styles and shapes, better battery management, a native app drawer and much more.
1. Refreshed icons and smoother animations
Xiaomi is going to upgrade the system and app icons which have only been tweaked slightly but not fully changed since MIUI 6. This should change with MIUI 11 and the new interface might also offer users the ability to change icon shapes to suit their needs. With MIUI 11. The icons are expected to get flatter and more minimal compared to their current version.
2. Monochrome ultra power saving mode
This feature will be added to MIUI 11 is the ultra power saving mode. With this mode, all apps and features except texts and calls will be turned off and the color of the screen will be turned into black and white in order to conserve battery. Users will also have the ability to selectively allow apps in the ultra power saving mode. which i discussed above.
3. Status bar optimizations
MIUI 11 will improve in MIUI icons in the status bar, especially on smartphones with notches. The icons will be well-spaced and optimized so that all crucial icons such as headphones, mute, battery and signal strength indicators can be accommodated on a single side of the status bar. and the clock might be shifted to right too i.e. in line with other Android devices. Xiaomi might also add an option to darken the status bar to hide the notch.
4. Automatic screenshot management
The upcoming version of MIUI 11 will support automatic deletion of screenshots after they are shared. Users might also get new options to edit screenshots. At the same time, MIUI 11 might also bring an improved way of interacting with notifications as well as the ability to club notifications from the same app in the form of cards. Users will also be able to manage persistent notifications and we expect a snooze function similar to stock Android.
5. System-wide dark theme (Dark Mode)
MIUI 11 will bring the favor of a system-wide dark theme while the feature is already being pushed to MIUI 10 beta on Mi 8 and Redmi Note 5 Pro, MIUI 11 will extend the support for the browser and third-party apps. A native system-wide dark theme can also be seen on Android Q but Xiaomi users will have the privilege of using the feature even on MIUI 11 based on Android 9 Pie.

MIUI 11 will give new system icons. The company is said to be working on new and upgraded system icons from scratch. So, the next Xiaomi OS will have better-looking icons, expected to sport a more minimal look. And this will be available in first version of MIUI 11. The current app icons on the OS were introduced back with MIUI 8.
7. New Unified Design
The brand new MIUI 11 will have a brand new upgraded design. The UI is expected to run on a unified design compared to the current MIUI 10. So, the overall design will see a flat change supported by AI powered features.
8. Ultimate Power Saving Mode
MIUI 11 will come with an ultimate power saving mode. This ultimate power saving mode feature will disable all the system functions except for calls and messages. it will also turn off all the colors on the user interface by switching to a monochrome mode to save battery. Also you can choose to customize the ultimate power save mode so that you can choose an app for the mode on your own.
9. Android Q Support
The next MIUI may run on Android Pie, the Android Q is also expected on the future versions of MIUI 11. For selected device. Xiaomi may announce Android Q based MIUI 11 by the end of the year.
10. App Drawer
The upcoming MIUI 11 may come with an App Drawer like the Poco F1. The Poco launcher works on MIUI supported devices, and it also recently has received the Dark mode feature. So both an app drawer and dark mode is expected to arrive with MIUI 11 As a option not mandatory.
11. New AI Features
The Upcoming MIUI 11 will have lots of AI features. The system will automatically adjust itself with your behavior. Like the MIUI 11 will automatically be deleting the screenshots after they have been shared. The system will also restrict the use of such apps which are never used.
12. Optimized Status Bar
MIUI 11 is also come with on to optimize the status bar. The upcoming MIUI 11 will see a few new changes in the status bar to make it more interactive. The status bar will also support the dark mode and options to customize.
The stable version of the MIUI 11 is expected to happen in mid Q3 or by the end of the fourth quarter of the year.

MIUI 11 Launch: When Will MIUI Arrive In India?
The full version of MIUI 11 update will come soon. The new Xiaomi software is under worksing but the beta version come soon. Mi 9 in the list hints at a beta version of MIUI 11, or maybe it’s going to be the first device to receive the update in a few months.
The company is not yet released anything till now 30:04:2019 and there’s been no word from Xiaomi as well regarding the MIUI 11’s official release.
Coming to MIUI 11 India launch, will not start before June. The company generally launches a new MIUI update every year in June month, and will same in 2019 is expected. In India, the Mi and Redmi devices may receive a mass roll-out end by the end of the year.
Xiaomi Reveals New Features Coming to MIUI 10 and MIUI 11
Xiaomi has introduced a list of features that will come to MIUI users through a post on its official forums. The new features are expected to be a part of the existing MIUI 10, some will come in the next-generation, MIUI 11.
The Chinese giant new feature is as followed.
- A system-wide Dark mode.
- Enhanced Dolby effects.
- Ability to lock an app using face or fingerprint locking system.
- Adjust the font and display sizes separately.
- Deletion of the APK file after installing the app and a dedicated child mode.
- Users would also get the option to display emergency contacts on the lock screen.
- Driving mode with support for QQ message broadcast and voice broadcast.
- Shortcut to increase the brightness of the screen.
- Xiaomi has listed features such as a recycle bin for photos and an optimized app permission management.
- Some of the listed features are already a part of the MIUI 10 ROM for Chinese users.
GizChina first reported the updated MIUI forum post detailing the upcoming features. Some of these features are likely to be a part of MIUI 11.
