Every Xiaomi and Redmi devices, users are waiting to experience the New MIUI 11 before its Launch. After a long time, MIUI has traditionally lacked an app drawer, forcing users to rely on third-party launchers. Xiaomi actually testing an app drawer in stock MIUI launcher alongside app shortcuts.
With the Latest Leaked MIUI alpha build Launcher version126.96.36.1995-06141703, is finally getting an app drawer. Users should be able to tap on the middle button in the app bar at the bottom of the home screen to open the app drawer. For now, a swipe from the bottom does not appear to open the app drawer.
When the app drawer is expanded, the recently used apps are placed on the top while other apps are listed, as usual, in alphabetical order. There’s a downward-facing arrow on the top which users can tap on the button to collapse the app drawer. You can’t swipe down on the app drawer to close it for now but you can use the back button. It is because its still in Alpha Stage of testing, it will be fixed and Improved with the Newer Versions.
The alpha MIUI launcher also gets 3D Touch. From quick actions which show up when the app icon is long-pressed. Released with iOS, 3D allows users to launch any specific part of the app directly to perform certain key tasks.
The MIUI launcher is in the alpha stage of development which means we can expect it to get improve in future. Currently launcher may not be very stable or might crash during usage, its not recommend you to use it as your default launcher. If you still want try, you can download it using the link below.
Note this is not available for any other device, currently this is only for MIUI device with android P 9.0. Don’t think its like Poco launcher this is limited with MIUI device along with android P Currently.
This launcher can be soon Implemented on MIUI 10 or the Latest Upcoming MIUI 11. We have no idea as to when Xiaomi intends to launch this formally but we hope it will come soon.
The alpha build of MIUI with an app drawer has the build number 188.8.131.525-06141703 and currently has support for Chinese languageonly for the ‘App Drawer‘ tool in the Settings menu.
MIUI’s app drawer button is plain grey in color without any design or marks, and on being tapped, opens an interface with a row of recent apps at the top, while the entire apps sits below arranged in alphabetical order. A small down arrow button can also be seen at the top, which can be tapped to collapse the app drawer interface and go back to the home screen.
While swiping down on the app drawer does not work as a gesture, so you’ll have to either press the back button or the arrow button at the top to return to the home screen. Also, swiping up won’t open the app drawer either. it launches the pre-installed browser app.
Another change with the alpha build of MIUI 11 launcher is support for app shortcuts. You can long-press an app icon to open a dialogue box with quick actions for performing certain tasks.

Once you’ve installed it, long-press on the home screen > tap on the Settings icon at the bottom > select More. This will take you to a screen titled ‘Home Screen & Recent’.
Press Below ‘Home Screen Settings‘ on this page, tap on the Chinese language text and select the second layout to enable app drawer button in MIUI. But since this is an alpha build, you may get lots of bugs and performance issues.
